About Web-CP
History
Web-CP.net is a continuation of the development of web://cp with its ultimate goal being a 1.0 release. The project was started in 2003 as a lightweight alternative to commercial hosting control panels like cPanel and Plesk. The philosophy has always been simplicity — provide essential hosting management tools without unnecessary bloat.
Over the years, web-cp has been adopted by hundreds of small and medium hosting providers who value its straightforward approach, minimal resource usage, and the freedom that comes with GPL-licensed software.
Philosophy
Web-CP is designed around a top-down control model. Server administrators have full control, and they delegate specific capabilities to resellers, who in turn delegate to domain owners and users. This ensures clean separation of privileges and predictable behavior at every level.
